Day 3

Train journey to Jaipur, cultural dinner

After an early breakfast, we will be transferred to the railway station for our journey to Jaipur by the superfast train.  While we will be in the comfort of an air-conditioned coach, the sights and sounds of the railway stations and the scenery is not to be missed. This is also a good chance to catch up on sleep or just relax. A train journey in India is an experience in itself.

On arrival in Jaipur, the rest of the afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the hotel. Or head to the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the local markets.

Our accommodation for 2 nights in Jaipur is one of the highlights of this trip. The Raj Palace, a heritage hotel was built in the 18th century and was once the abode for the Royal family. The rooms are restored and furnished with rich furniture with special fabrics and colors to add a princely charm. You will find art collections and artefacts of the Royal family throughout the hotel. It is fascinating that Royal guests of yesteryears and the junior members of the Royal family had lived in these rooms a couple of centuries ago.

Early evening we will travel to the outskirts of Jaipur to Samode Village – a village concept capturing the vibrant spirit of Rajasthan. There are open-air restaurants, where we will enjoy a tasty, authentic Rajasthani meal and a bevy of traditional entertainment – dancers, acrobats, puppet shows, etc.
