Goa is my favourite place in India. For as long back as I can remember, there was not a single year that I did not visit Goa when I was living in India. It has a certain charm about itself and beckons you to visit after every few months. The moment you step your toes in the warm water of the Arabian Sea, you find a certain solace. Maybe it is to do with the warmth of the people or the easy pace of life. Or the relaxing massages on the beach.
Today we are heading to our friend Rita’s home to spend a few hours learning and preparing delicious Goan food. The cooking lessons are held in her garden, under a lovely Gazebo amidst lush green trees, plants & herbs to make it the right ambiance to learn, relax and unwind. Her aim is to bring the joy of cooking to the classroom by encouraging her guests to experiment and have fun with the cooking process. Rita’s Gourmet Goa has been awarded the “Certificate of Excellence” for the past 3 years by Trip Advisor for excellent reviews posted by travellers.
Some of the things we will enjoy are a trip to the local farmer’s market, introduction to different spices, cooking techniques and enjoying each other’s company and lunch over a glass (or two) of local Port. Read more about this experience here.
After the delicious lunch, the rest of the day is at leisure, We head back to the hotel for some more time on the beach or enjoy the activities in the Resort.
