Cuisines of North India

The cuisines of North India is like a Kaleidoscope... you have to see it to believe it. The different spices, flavours, aromas, cooking techniques is every foodies’ paradise and a sensory overload.

North India has had many rulers. The Maharaja’s, the British and the Mughal Emperors all tried to conquer India. All of them failed, but they left behind a mark and their own influence on the land. None more obvious than the cuisines. Come, explore and discover this fascinating region and the diversity of food.

Go off the beaten track and enjoy a farm stay, cook in the desert and stay in luxury tents. Dine in a palace and volunteer in the world’s largest free kitchen. And then there is street food and fine dining.

The tour starts in Delhi where street food for dinner will prepare you for the sensory overload you are about to experience for the next 9 days. The next morning board a train to Amritsar, the land of Kulchas and Lassi. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of countryside farm life and a cooking demo of authentic Punjabi food. You will also visit the Golden Temple and have a chance to volunteer in the kitchen which feeds 100,000 people daily.

Next stop is in Manvar for an unforgettable desert experience for 2 days. Then head to Jodhpur, famous for its 15th century fort that still stands strong. Meet a custodian of the Royal recipes handed down generations and enjoy a cooking lesson of authentic Rajasthani cuisine. The final destination is Delhi for the grand finale. How does a 16 course dinner highlighting the flavours of India sound? And that too at the only restaurant in India to feature in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. A befitting end to a glorious tour we think…

Price does not include international flights, but typical return flights to India on a reputable airline is approximately $1250.
