Tour Plan

Day 01 March 2: Arrive in Delhi
On arrival at Delhi airport, we will be met by our local representative for transfer to our hotel. After checking in, take a few hours to rest and unwind from the long flight. Early evening we will have a few hours sightseeing tour of New Delhi.
The start of our culinary journey is our welcome dinner at Dum Pukht in our hotel ITC Maurya. It is a celebrated fine-dining restaurant serving royal Awadhi cuisine, slow-cooked to perfection in the traditional style. The interiors of the restaurant exude regal elegance, with glittering crystal chandeliers, rich ivory and gold accents, and Mughal-inspired arches creating a palatial ambience. It’s a great ambience to get to know each other.
Day 02 March 3: Day trip to Agra
After early breakfast we are on a superfast train to Agra to see the Taj Mahal and other popular tourist attractions.
Lunch is at Sheroes café, an establishment run by victims of acid attack. This is one of the social causes we support on our ‘Good’ food journeys. Guests pay for their own lunch which is by donation.
Our dinner tonight is Kashmiri cuisine in Delhi at one of our favourite restaurants ‘Chor Bizzare’. It is a dining experience, where the interiors have been put together with India's finery and frivolity. It has a quirky ‘thieves’ market’ ambience with eclectic collection of handpicked furniture, tableware, and curios from across India. They proudly say that in our restaurant, "nothing matches" yet "everything gels".
Day 03 March 4: Happy Holi!
Today is Holi, the festival of colours.
After breakfast we have arranged a private celebration to enjoy Holi in the comfort of your hotel… lots of colours., flowers, music, followed by a special festive lunch.
Early in the evening you can join us on a half-day city tour of Old Delhi. However, we understand if you don’t want to leave the comfort of your hotel after such a big day of celebrations, the sightseeing tour is optional. Dinner is a buffet of some of the best North Indian food, at last count there were more than 100 menu items to choose from.
Day 04 March 5: Delhi - Kolkata
After breakfast we will check out of the hotel and head to the airport for our flight to Kolkata.
We should be in Kolkata just after noon, and following your check-in, the remainder of the day is yours to unwind and explore the opulent surroundings of the iconic, luxury hotel ITC Royal Bengal.
This evening promises to be an unforgettable indulgence: enjoy a private single malt whisky experience, expertly paired with an 11-course tasting menu at Avartana, an award-winning restaurant in our hotel. Renowned for its traditional and progressive Southern Indian cuisine, Avartana elevates dining to an art form and a sensory experience.
Day 05 March 6: Kolkata
After breakfast we will explore the ‘City of Joy’ Kolkata.
Kolkata was the first capital of the British when they attempted to colonise India. Kolkata’s culinary culture is influenced by the European, Mughals, Jewish and the Chinese. They all brought their own cooking styles, spices and traditions and it was seamlessly blended with Bengal’s own rich culture and cuisine.
Kolkata is often be overlooked on typical India itineraries, but it is a paradise for true food lovers. Today, we will immerse ourselves in the city’s vibrant culinary scene, guided by a renowned foodie celebrated worldwide. He has promised to take us for lunch to one of the hidden gems of Kolkata to celebrate the city’s rich culinary history.
After a long day, we will head back to the comfort of our hotel for dinner, followed by perhaps a couple of drinks at the roof top bar of the hotel.
Day 06 March 7: Kolkata – Mumbai
After breakfast we will check out of the hotel and head to the airport for our flight west to Mumbai.
We should be in Mumbai just after noon, and following your check-in, the remainder of the day is yours to unwind and explore the luxurious St. Regis Mumbai. It is one of the tallest luxury hotels in India with sweeping vistas of the city skyline and Arabian Sea, and its legendary St. Regis Butler Service. Better still, the premium Palladium Mall sits just beneath, putting premium shopping and entertainment at your doorstep.
Our dinner is at Mirchi and Mime. It is a trendy dining restaurant serving modern-Indian cuisine, first of its kind in India, served exclusively by speech & hearing-impaired service staff. It is a lot of fun ordering your meals in sign language. This is one more way we give back to the community.
Day 07 March 8: Mumbai
The morning is at leisure to explore the hotel or relax by the poolside.
We have a unique experience for lunch today. We head to Masque, voted India’s number 1 restaurant for 4 years in a row. Enjoy a private and exclusive cooking masterclass to learn how to make some of the most loved street foods of Mumbai. By the time you’re done, you’ll have some delicious tricks up your sleeve to wow your friends at your next party back home.
Dinner tonight is a surprise, something you’d not expect on a culinary tour to India. Be prepared to be blown away.
Day 08 March 9: Mumbai
After breakfast we will explore Mumbai – The Gateway of India, Hanging Gardens, the famous ‘Dhobi ghat’ – the worlds biggest openair laundry where more than 100,000 clothes are washed by hand daily!
Tonight, we’re heading to Indian Accent for a fine dining experience. They serve modern Indian food that’s both creative and full of rich, familiar flavors. The cozy atmosphere, along with the beautiful dancing fountains in the building, will make this dinner to remember and a perfect way to end our time in Mumbai.
Day 09 March 10: Mumbai - Kovalam
After an early breakfast we will check out of the hotel and head to the airport for our flight south to Kovalam, a picturesque beach destination in Kerala,
We will reach Trivandrum just after 11 am and it’s a quick 30-minute drive to our resort. Following check-in at the Leela Kovalam, the rest of the day is free to explore the resort or the white sandy beach. The Leela Kovalam is a stunning clifftop 5-star resort overlooking the Arabian Sea, renowned for its breathtaking views and luxurious ambiance. Guests can enjoy private beach access, infinity pools, and spa treatments.
Later in the day we will visit their sprawling organic vegetables and herbs garden. Being a major producer of spices, Kerala cuisine frequently uses black peppers, cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon and ginger in its dishes. Since coconut is available in abundance and it is loaded with numerous health benefits, locals use it abundantly to create delicious dishes. In the evening, we have a cooking class at our hotel to learn to make chutneys and pickles, followed by dinner.
Day 10 March 11: Kovalam – Day trip to Kanyakumari
After breakfast we have a day trip to Kanyakumari which is at the Southernmost tip of India. It is the confluence of the Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. This unique geographical point creates a striking visual contrast, with each sea displaying distinct colors that can often be seen with the naked eye on clear days. It is a 90-minute scenic drive along the coastal highway passing through charming seaside villages.
Dinner is a traditional vegetarian meal served on a banana leaf. ‘Sadya’ is a grand vegetarian feast from Kerala, served on a banana leaf during festivals and special occasions like weddings. A typical Sadya consists of 20 to 24 dishes, but it can include over 64 items in larger celebrations. Our group is as good as a special occasion, and the chef team at the Leela are excited to create this experience for us.
Day 11 March 12: Kovalam
After breakfast we have a half day tour of Kovalam to see a couple of ancient temples and a palace. We have kept this as an option excursion; in case you want to relax at the beach or by the poolside and make the most of your penultimate day in India.
Our last dinner of the tour is a royal experience - The Royal Travancore Thali at The Leela Kovalam. It is inspired by the luxurious feasts of Kerala’s erstwhile royal courts and showcases a fusion of flavours, traditions, and cultural diversity that define the cuisine of Kerala.
Day 12 March 13: Kovalam - departure
After breakfast, we will transfer to the Trivandrum international airport for your flight back home. Or talk to us if you want to extend your stay or explore India further. Perhaps a visit to a national park for a Tiger Safari?
